Site Preparation & Grading
Site Preparation and Grading in Waco
Before anything gets built, the ground has to be shaped and compacted right. Tnsmediagroup takes a raw parcel through topsoil stripping, cut and fill, and rough to finish grading, establishing the pad elevations and drainage slopes on your grading plan. We finish with a subgrade compacted in lifts and tested against a Proctor result, so the slab or structure above it sits on ground that will not settle unevenly.
Why Grading Matters Here
Waco sits on expansive clay in many spots, and clay moves with moisture. A pad that was not brought to 95 percent of maximum dry density gives that movement somewhere to go, and it shows up later as a cracked slab or a driveway that heaves. Getting the cut and fill balanced and the subgrade compacted is the cheapest insurance on the whole project.
Our Process
We start with an 811 utility locate and a review of the site plan. Then we strip and stockpile topsoil, move dirt to balance cut and fill, and grade to the marked elevations. We compact each lift and confirm density before signing off, then set positive drainage slopes away from the building so stormwater sheds correctly. Silt fence and inlet protection go in to hold the disturbed soil in place.
